A painter
of sunshine and the subtle effects of light, he often painted
scenes of Paris, Le Havre, and London. An excellent teacher, he
influenced many of his contemporary French artists, notably Paul
Gauguin and Paul Cezanne.
Pissarro's paintings are included in the collections of the Luxembourg
Gallery, in Paris and many of the leading galleries of Europe.
