Josef
Albers 1888-1976 Biography: He was a German-American immigrant
who studied the bauhaus school. When he came to America
he was appointed the director of the department of Design
at Yale University.
In 1948 he became a member of the advisor council of the
Arts at Yale University. He became an official US citizen
in 1939. He also taught at the Black Mountain College
North Carolina. He was born in Bottrop, Westphalia, Germany.
