Master
artist Kasimir Malevich was a victim of Soviet political
philosophy which demanded artistic realism, he died in
poverty and obscurity in Leningrad in the 1935. However,
the power of his art has survived the Cold War and will
survive in to the 21st Century.
Along with Picasso, Malevich was a major proponent of
cubism and his art shows great clarity of outline. He
coined the term "suprematism" to describe his work, referring
to the supremacy of feeling over other artistic considerations.
